The SDH Product System Architect (System Engineer) primary tasks are to translate customer & PM feature requests into detailed product features and requirements, to create and maintain the product architecture and to provide technical & directional support to R&D, Product Management and Customer Teams. The responsibilities of SDH product system engineering include:
· Compose SDH Product feature lists and requirements based on Customer (team) and PM input
· Investigate new feature requests, provide feature investigation report, and design HW architecture for new system/packs,
· Consolidate product development cost and schedule information for budget and planning purposes
· Provide training to the development teams on the concepts of new features
· Guide development teams during the system concept through architecture phase
· Ensure feature alignment between the various product development teams
· Provide technical support to Product Management and Customer Teams
· Participate in cross-functional design & documentation reviews
II. Qualifications:
· An MSc or PhD degree in Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
· 3-10 years working experience in Transport system (SDH) or Datacom system (switch/router/ATM) development, including either system engineering, system architecture design, software and hardware development.
· Telecom background with extensive knowledge of industry standards, both International as well as Chinese standards.
· Experience on system physical design and/or thermal design, mechanical design is preferred
· Experience on hardware circuit pack design and/or optical system design is preferred.
· Experience of Datacom system development (switch/router/ATM) or Ethernet/ATM/MPLS/RPR over SDH is preferred
· Preferred analog/digital system design background
· Strong communication and presentation skills, both in English & Chinese
· Team player, able to motivate yourself and others
· Fluent (oral and written) in English and Chinese
