Pub Watch Scheme /

inmidtown has been instrumental in setting up a scheme aimed at reducing crime and improving safety in the area.  Pub Watch, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police and Camden Council, will make licensed premises in Bloomsbury, Holborn and St Giles safer places to socialise and work, through a number of measures focussed around the sharing of information amongst scheme partners.

Members of Pub Watch meet once a month to share experiences and receive updates from the Police and Council, including notifications of known offenders operating in the area and latest crime trends.  The meetings also offer an opportunity to discuss any problems Landlords face and report concerns directly to local law enforcement officers or the Council.

Pub Watch members are automatically added to the inmidtown Alert Comms group, which sends out updates and alerts on any arising issues which may impact business.

There is no fee to join the partnership but the donation of a room to use for meetings is most appreciated.

The Pub Watch scheme has been set up via the Licensing Team of the Metropolitan Police and Camden Council in co-operation with inmidtown.  Its aims are to:

  • Share information amongst scheme partners
  • Make licensed premises safer places to visit and socialise
  • Cut down crime in licensed premises
  • Provide Police and Council advice to Landlords on adhering to the terms of their licence
  • Help resolve all issues relating to licensed premises - waste, noise, flyposting, underage drinking, pricing & measures, theft, drug use, disorder, assault etc.
  • Improve safety in the area
