St. Giles Developers' Group /

The area of St Giles Circus is experiencing enormous change. Central to this is the arrival of Crossrail at Tottenham Court Road Station in 2017 and the redevelopment of the London Underground station here.  inmidtown aims to add value to the plans already in place and work with the statutory authorities, owners and developers to help deliver quality public spaces which ensure St Giles Circus and its wider hinterland become a quality London landmark and a ‘world class’ arrival and departure point for central London.  Together with the business community, inmidtown seeks to:

  • share information and achieve a degree of consensus for the aspiration, coordination and planning of a high quality public realm
  • improve partnership working with the borough, and to exert influence on the emerging planning and development policies of the local authorities and TfL
  • ensure that the design of the public realm helps to establish St Giles as a premier business and retail district of central London, and maximises sustainable development potential
  • promote and assist the effective & sustainable regeneration of the St Giles area, ensuring the benefits of this also reach the resident and business community, and create a safe and pleasant environment, and develop a common approach to sustainability
  • ensure that the development of the area is carried out in a way which provides effective regeneration links and benefits to the four surrounding districts: Covent Garden, Soho, Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia
  • agree as necessary how to promote and market St Giles, its individual developments, the collective, and its surroundings, through the BID
  • develop and maintain a database of core content of all development for the area
  • maintain a review of all planning activity, and support members as necessary with information and responses
  • at a later stage develop & agree a management and security system which works for all and allows the management & maintenance of the core area as ‘one estate’
  • seek support for St Giles Group aspirations from London First WESt Public Realm Group
