The inmidtown district comprises three distinct but connected areas, each with an identity very much its own.  Though centrally located and with good transport connections, there remains a great deal of room for improvement

inmidtown seeks to develop a focused public realm strategy and to encourage local business and public agencies to work together to ensure that the district as a whole has the vibrant public spaces it deserves. A programme of street improvements can improve the pedestrian experience and this needs to include a review of street furniture and lighting, removing clutter and improving signage and information provision.

Improving the public realm will be a major contribution to the district’s general economic, social and cultural wellbeing, helping to attract new business and employment and increase staff retention as well as drawing in visitors from surrounding areas.
